Springtime is almost here! We all know it has been coming and some people may have even been looking forward to a good spring clean! But it can sometimes be hard getting the full potential from your regular cleaning jobs. That’s why it is good to occasionally spend a day getting everything in order and to a standard you are happy with. It is a good idea to clean from the top down. This can applied room by room or even from upstairs to downstairs. Turn to the right when you walk in a room and follow the walls around to make sure you don’t miss a spot. Remember to dust shelves and furniture first. Then move on to windows, skirting boards and then vacuum. This is the most efficient way of getting the most out of your time.
You can do a great job without buying over complicated cleaning products, use clean damp microfibre cloth for dusting. Hold the cloth up with one corner and using a spray bottle mist it with clean water. This should give you just enough moisture to pick up any dust without the streaky marks or harsh smells of polish.
To eliminate any streaks on windows, use a quality spray cleaner and clean cloth. On the inside clean the window horizontally and on the outside use vertical movements. This way you can see if you have any marks and where they are by the direction the streaks are going in! Often with streaks you do not need to apply more spray, just use your cloth to work the product you already have on the glass. This is good to remember for mirrors to.
The air inside your home is up to ten more dirty than outside. Sinister bugs can live in your upholstery and carpets for up to three months, so while you think you may have got everything, beware of lurking pests.
